Who am I?

My name is Dale, and I am an indie developer, specifically targeting the Playdate handheld console from Panic.

I have been programming for nearly 40 years, much of that time in the games industry. I’m pretty old skool, so I love getting back to basics with the limitations of the Playdate, getting to flex my old graphics programming muscles, implementing things like raycasting, polygon rasterisation, and voxel landscapes, techniques that modern graphics cards have all but made obsolete.

I generally work on anything that interests me at the time. I like all kinds of games, shooters, fighters, RPGs, etc, so I tend to flick between projects quite rapidly, perhaps too rapidly. But that gives me a chance to make lots of game prototypes that will be on display here.

All are welcome, and if you have questions, articles you want me to write, or simply want to praise or criticise my games, feel free to contact me through the form on this site.

Cheers, fellow Playdaters.
